Mother-Daughter Team Fulfill Coffee Dream

A former store manager has turned her dream of owning a Zarraffa's Coffee store into a reality, in partnership with her mum.

Jemima Harris has worked for Zarraffa's for the past three years and believes the consistency, a great reputation and the flavours of all the beverages were factors in wanting to run her own store.

In partnership with her mother, Judy Morgan, Jemima opened the doors today to the company's newest store at Oxley Village Shopping Centre, Oxley Station Rd, Oxley located in suburban south west Brisbane.

"The decision was an easy one as I had worked in the industry and for the company at the Worongary store," enthused Ms Harris. "It helped that we both had a love for Zarraffa's Coffee and its culture."

The new store will service the suburb of Oxley and surrounds, including Seventeen Mile Rocks, Fig Tree Pocket and Corinda; close to the local schools and community centres.

"We are excited to open our doors in the new shopping centre, anchored by Woolworth's and supported by a range of specialty shops catering to locals. It is also an easy stop for commuters to grab their daily coffee."

The 63rd store for the Australian-owned and operated coffee chain, Zarraffa's Coffee Oxley forms part of a measured rollout to deliver convenience coffee to Queenslanders.

"Our plan in the next 12 to 24 months is to grow responsibly throughout Queensland and Western Australia, in pockets and locations not currently serviced by our brand," said CEO Kenton Campbell.

"Supporting our franchisees and their individual businesses is critical to our long term growth as a group and by focussing on the delivery of a quality product and experience, every time."

Ms Harris said her journey with the company from employee to employer has helped her to grow as a person.

"I have learnt new things being involved with the Zarraffa's community, becoming someone who has a real passion for coffee and a real fan of the Zarraffa's way of business."

When asked what was important that customers know about the new store, Ms Harris was adamant that involvement in the community and engaging with customers was a top priority.
"We are here to serve our customers the best coffee in town, to be involved in our community and become more than just their local Barista," she said.

"Many of my previous customers have become friends and we look forward to building these same relationships in our local community, day after day."

Zarraffa's Coffee Oxley is located at Tenancy 12 Oxley Village Shopping Centre, Oxley Station Rd, Oxley 4075
