The Interface Financial Group add New South Wales franchisee

Written on the 30th of November 2009

The Interface Financial Group brings a new dimension to small business financing in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory with the opening of their new IFG office in Sydney.

The Interface Financial Group has been providing short term working capital for small business through a proven invoice discounting program for more than 37 years.

With more than 140 offices in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Western Australia, and Singapore Interface is now well-positioned to expand its Australian presence. Interface established an office in Perth some time ago and is now gearing up to service the small business needs of companies from coast to coast.

Interface operates through an established franchising model and local businessman and entrepreneur David Hechter has secured the Master Franchise rights for Interface in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

David Hechter is an experienced financial services executive having spent the last 8 years in various senior roles in Australia for leading organizations in banking and asset management.

His most recent role was as the General Manager – Loan Servicing for the Corporate Trust division of Perpetual Ltd., an Australian Securities Exchange ASX-200 company; this followed his role as the General Manager – Strategy & Technology for the division. Prior to joining Perpetual, Mr. Hechter worked for St. George Banking Group where he had responsibility for the bank’s investments in key strategic partnerships.

Mr. Hechter began his career with the Investment Banking Group of Merrill Lynch & Co. and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Hechter holds both Australian and U.S. citizenship. In response to becoming the Master Franchisee for Interface, David Hechter said, “I believe that in a post ‘global financial crisis’ environment, the IFG business model is very well positioned to succeed as small businesses find it even more challenging to access traditional funding. Small businesses will be the key drive of both the economic recovery and jobs growth, but they will need capital to reach their potential. I want to be a part of the next wave of growth in the non-bank financial sector in Australia and I believe that IFG will be one of the major success stories in this arena.”

“David’s strong financial services background will serve Interface, and small businesses in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, very well.” said David Banfield, President of The Interface Financial Group. “We are very pleased to have him on the IFG Team.”

In addition to his role as Master Franchisee, Hechter will also partner with IFG Network Australia, the Interface “sister organization”, which handles marketing and syndication financing for the franchise network. Sometimes conventional financing is just not an option for a young growing business. It is usually under such circumstances that Interface can provide their “use-it-as-you-need-it” service.

The Interface approach to cash flow acceleration allows small business to grow, often at an exponential pace. Banfield noted that there has been a lot of bad press lately concerning the service level for small business when it comes to a conventional banking relationship. “Under the Interface system all clients quickly realize that they are not dealing with a conventional funder as they have a very interested and dedicated ‘partner’ in the form of the IFG franchisee with whom they work. This solid relationship is in part what has helped Interface build such a strong client base over many years.”
