Donut King adds natural sprinklesWritten on the 28th of June 2010 Donut King has launched Australia’s only doughnuts topped with artificial-free icing and sprinkles. Targeted at parents keen to eliminate artificial colours and flavours from their children’s lunch boxes, the new kid's range features doughnuts with icing and sprinkles made from all natural ingredients. In line with Donut King's overall strategic direction, they continue to invigorate their products with new initiatives and options, ensuring that their donuts can be enjoyed as part of a balanced lifestyle. Ideal for customers of all ages and suitable for those who have sensitivities to artificial ingredients. The franchised doughnut network is part of the Retail Food Group. RFG's chief marketing officer Tracey Catterall said the new range took more than 12 months of research and development. “We were particularly thrilled during our sensory tests when donut lovers told us they actually preferred the taste of our artificially-free icings better than the original flavours! So, it’s been a double-win for us,” she said. “International studies have shown artificial colours may have adverse effects on the activity and attention of children. That is why we have been working hard to ensure donut lovers and sweet tooths across Australia can have a better alternative for their children. “This, we hope, will be the first of many new nutritious initiatives to come,” Catterall added. The Kids Donuts with Artificial-Free Icing & Sprinkles are available at Donut King stores across Australia in a range of flavours, including all Strawberry, Chocolate and Pineapple Rings, Kids Boys and Girls, Kids Dinosaurs and Kids little Cake Donuts. |
