Healthy Habits 5th on BRW Fast Starters list

Written on the 30 May 2008

AUSTRALIA’S number one healthy fast food franchise Healthy Habits has continued its stellar rise to the top of the food chain after it was named the fifth fastest growing company in the renowned BRW Magazine’s Top 100 Fast Starters list.

Healthy Habits posted an impressive growth figure of 43 percent over the past financial year making it the highest ranking food franchise on the list.

Healthy Habits Founder and Managing Director Katherine Sampson said the growth the company experienced was due to high demand for the franchise’s products and the high level of support franchisees received.

“Franchisees at Healthy Habits have always commented on the great support they’ve received from the head office team and we share an enthusiasm for their success that helps drive the growth of the business.

“I’ve always been a true believer in having a great team and without them Healthy Habits just wouldn’t work so we definitely have a lot to be proud of. We are predicting a turnover of $27 million this year and this is due to everyone’s hard work.”

Ms Sampson said the company was focused on establishing a national presence for the business including expanding to the Northern Territory with the opening of a new site in Casuarina.

“This year we implemented the internal infrastructure necessary to support the growth of Healthy Habits as we aim to capture a larger chunk of the healthy fast food movement by establishing a national presence.

“We’re looking forward to achieving our long-term goal of around 100 stores in the next three years.

“Being recognised in BRW for achieving such excellent growth has definitely given us a lot to smile about and will keep us motivated to see our goals to fruition.”

Healthy Habits founded in 2004 has 28 stores Australia wide and sells over two million sandwiches a year, serving 6,000 customers per day nationally.

Healthy Habits has won numerous industry awards including My Business Magazine’s Best Young Business and Overall Excellence Award 2007; Small Business Champion National Awards for Best Gourmet Food/ Takeaway Store 2007; Australian Retailers Association “Franchisee of the Year” and Franchise Founder Katherine Sampson was a finalist in the international “Veuve Clicquot Women’s Award” and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2008.
