Tabatinga Wins Government Funding

Hot on the heels of winning the 2011 Best Tourist Attraction for the North Coast of New South Wales, Tabatinga has just won funding to the tune of $30,000 as part of the NSW Government’s Regional Tourism Product Development Funding program.

The allocation of funds was highly competitive with 65 applicants from the Mid North Coast area alone. Tabatinga was one of only two Coffs Harbour businesses to be successful.

Tabatinga CEO Brian Parker said that the funds will go towards enhancing and improving the toddler facilities at the Coffs Harbour venue which services the many thousands of families that visit the Mid North Coast area each year. Recognition in this manner cements Tabatinga as a genuine destination venue and a tourist attraction in its own right, especially given the recent tourism award win.

Mr Parker said, at any one time there are literally thousands of families with toddlers and/or pre-schoolers on holidays seeking venues and attractions that appeal to their specific needs. The majority of tourist attractions do not cater too well to this demographic so the Tabatinga business model provides a unique opportunity to service this niche market.
What this now means for potential investors in the Tabatinga brand is the ability of franchisees to avail themselves of the growing recognition of the brand in tourism circles. Tabatinga documentation includes examples of winning award nominations and successful grant applications and franchisors Brian and Cathy Parker will mentor franchisees in ensuring that the full advantage can be captured.
